SOUTH JORDAN — Students from Jordan School District toured the 9/11 Project, an immersive exhibit on the history and lessons of Sept. 11 hosted by the Major Brent Taylor Foundation at the Bastian Agricultural Center in South Jordan, the district said 1.
Bingham High School's madrigals opened the event with a performance of the Star-Spangled Banner before the first public tours began, and Daybreak Elementary students were the first field trip to arrive, according to the district 1.
The exhibit was on display until Sept. 14. The district said more than 5,000 of its students were scheduled to tour during its run 1. On the field trips, students walked the museum and talked with first responders from New York City who were there during the attacks, and they got up-close looks at local fire, police and military vehicles, the district said 1.
The district did not say how many of its students had completed a tour by the time the exhibit closed, and it did not name any of the students who attended.
