DRAPER — Three public hearings are set for the Planning Commission's Oct. 22, 2026 meeting: conditional use permits for a home-based woodworking business and for a construction sales and service company, and a development agreement for a five-lot project on 700 East 123.
All three hearings begin at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at Draper City Hall, 1020 E. Pioneer Road 123. The notices are dated Oct. 8, 2026, are attested by City Recorder Nicole Smedley, and are posted on the Utah Public Notice Website, on the city's news page and at City Hall 12.
The first request is for Master Wood Crafters, a cottage business at a property at approximately 12646 S. 700 East 1. The stated purpose, in the city's notice, is "to allow a home-based cottage business that creates wood products for sale on line" 1. Maryann DeHaven is the staff contact, at (801) 576-6391 1.
The second is United Curbing, at approximately 12541 S. Minuteman Dr., where the notice states the purpose is "to operate a Construction Sales and Service business" 2. The staff contact is Nick Whittaker, at (801) 576-6522 2.
The third item is a development agreement for 12430 S. 700 East that would allow the property to be developed into five lots with a private roadway 3. The city's notice states the request is in conjunction with a rezoning of the same property considered by the Planning Commission on July 9, 2026 3.
On fees, the city's Consolidated Fee Schedule (Resolution 26-37) sets a home occupation conditional use application at $60, and every other conditional use application at $500 4.
The city's code sections on home occupations are 9-34-040, 9-34-050 and 9-34-060, according to the commission's own minutes from a November 2023 home-occupation case 5. In that case the conditions of approval recited in the minutes included that no customers come to the property, that employees who do not live in the home are not permitted, that the area used for the business be limited to 25 percent or less of the home's floor area, with a matching limit on the yard area used for business, and that regular business hours run 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 5. The planning manager stated at the same hearing that the home occupation chapter calls for no outdoor storage 5.
Neither permit request has a staff report or detailed application published, and the commission's full agenda for the Oct. 22 meeting had not been posted as of Oct. 11, the Draper Herald reported 6. The Utah Public Notice Website's page for the Draper Planning Commission carries the three notices and their public information handouts, and no agenda packet for Oct. 22 7.
The hearings are open to the public. Residents who want to comment can attend the meeting at Draper City Hall or contact the staff member named on the notice for that item 12.
