A new section of U-111 opened to traffic as work continues on the Utah Department of Transportation's project in South Jordan and Herriman.
Traffic previously using the old Bacchus Highway has shifted onto two new U-111 lanes beginning near South Jordan Parkway and extending north to 11800 South, according to Herriman City. Drivers traveling through the area should follow posted signage while they become familiar with the new configuration.
Construction remains active in the area. Herriman City advises motorists to use caution, watch for crews and equipment, and plan for possible delays. Residents and businesses near the project may continue to experience construction noise and vibration as crews complete additional work.
The city described the lane opening as another step forward for the U-111 project as construction progresses.
