Both programs are listed at the branch, 12877 S 1830 W, which the library schedules open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. that Wednesday 12.

Read to a Dog runs 1 to 2 p.m. with Mirage, identified in the listing as a trained therapy dog. The library describes the session as practice for read-aloud skills and directs participants to check in at the information desk for a reading time 1. The event page classes it as general audience and as a drop-in activity, and lists no registration 1.

Graphic Novel Book Club meets 7 to 8 p.m. in the Riverton Meeting Room, which the library schedules at a capacity of 40, to discuss The Okay Witch and make a craft 2. The club’s description puts it at ages 8 to 12 2.

The author is Emma Steinkellner, who wrote and illustrated the middle-grade graphic novel 4. The library’s page for the meeting spells the first name “Emmeline” 2. The age field on the same page carries “Teen (ages 12 to 18)” and “School Age (ages 6 to 9 yrs)”, so a reader sorting the calendar by audience gets a different answer from the one the description gives 2. No registration is listed for that meeting 2.

The branch lists two other programs that Wednesday: the Día de los Muertos community ofrenda, running all day, and Playtime Fun from 10 a.m. to noon in the same meeting room 2.

The club continues through the fall. The library’s own page for the next meeting lists Nov. 18, 7 to 8 p.m., in the same room, for Good Boy by Andy Hirsch, a Beehive nominee, put at ages 8 to 12, with reading the book not required to attend 3.
